1. Why name your blog ASTRAEA INTELIGENTE? 

Been fascinated with Greek Mythology since time immemorial (chos!) and when I saw the name Astraea (means Star-Maiden) I knew this is it. I have to name my blog like this. But then, it's so short so naghanap pa ako ng ibang pangalan pero walang nagmatch then all of a sudden, Inteligente came to my mind and here it is. Astraea Inteligente was born. XDD

2. Why make a blog?

Sunod sa uso I guess. Well, that was one of the reason that motivates me to make one. I spent most of my time learning how to blog, design, personalized and then it all started. Actually, I've been giving it a thought last year, pero ngayong taon lang na-push and so this year lang din nag-start ang mga blog entries. Mostly random stuffs, thoughts, and the so-called trying-hard book reviews.

GENRE
I'm such a sucker for PARANORMAL ROMANCE. ~ 

HISTORICAL
Haven't really read many historical romances but lately I've been hooked to Lisa Kleypas. She's awesome and I love all the books I've read from her. THE DEVIL IN WINTER is my best fave so far.

PARANORMAL
Ugh. This is hard. Soo HARD. I can't seem to choose. Hmm... (after 34 years) .... Still can't choose. (another 23 years). Do I really have to choose 1? Can I just choose them all? Haha. As of now, my fave is WICKED DEEDS ON A WINTER NIGHT by Kresley Cole. I super love werewolves.

CONTEMPORARY
ON DUBLIN STREET is my top fave contemporary romance book. I just can't have enough of Braden!

NEW ADULT
BROKEN series by Kimberly Lauren. Riley Twins. FTW.

Added:   THE HOOK-UP by Kristen Callihan. This book is just awesome. Can't wait for book 2. x

WESTERN
Waaa. May nabasa na ba akong ganito? Hmm. (think-think) How about ALWAYS ON MY MIND by Bella Andre. Counted ba 'yong taga-rancho ang lalake and is living in west Cal? Haha. Cheating. Oh I remember my fave- DUNCAN'S BRIDE by Linda Howard. I super love it. Gideon Reese Duncan. Oh my. Another one is- SADDLED AND SPURRED by Lorelei James. Oh my BRAN. He's a cattleman and a freakin' hot-as-the-sun cowboy. Oh yeah. x

LINE OF DUTY series and all of Tessa Bailey's works. Past. Present. Future. She's just sooo good I'm gonna die. Smut in it's finest.

BAD MOON RISING- 'yan ang latest na nagpangawa sa akin. The feels. The death. The love.  

Added: THE QUEEN OF ZOMBIE HEARTS by Gena Showalter. This book made me UGLY CRY. HARD. The death of Kat Parker is just... too... fucking... much. Damn you, Gena! I feel for Frosty. I mourn with him. The other part of my heart died with him. *wipes tears* See?

THE WALLFLOWERS by Lisa Kleypas. 'Yan ang una kong historical romance series na nabasa and I love it. 

Added: LORDS OF VICE by Alexandra Hawkins. I dig this series. Big Time. 

FANTASY SERIES
GUILD HUNTER by Nalini Singh. Altho PNR siya, but still it's classified as Fantasy series right? I just love RAPHAEL and his SEVEN plus his LEGION and of course, ME errr ELENA.

YOUNG ADULT SERIES
 LUX series by JLA and ARCANA CHRONICLES by Kresley Cole. Again they are under PNR but what can I do? I'm addicted to that genre, altho it's a first for me to have liked YA.

ROMANTIC-COMEDY SERIES
NEIGHBOR FROM HELL by R.L.Matthewson. It's not my all-time fave but I did enjoy and laugh a lot while reading it. Another one is LOVE AT STAKE by Kerrelyn Sparks, although it's PNR but I really really find it funny. Not that the characters are comedy-like but the humor is very very prominent in all the books of the series. Consistent. Thumbs-up to Miss Sparks. x

HERO
Again? Ugh. I can't choose. Major dilemma itoooo. But If I have to choose it would be TREY COLEMAN of FERAL SINS. I really really effin' love this werewolf-shifter. Read it and see. 

Latest: The one and only part human, part supermodel son of Satan- REYES ALEXANDER FARROW from CHARLEY DAVIDSON series by Darynda Jones. I love love love love RAF to the moon and back. 

HEROINE
ELLIE ANN PIERCE of LOTHAIRE. Oh man, she really kicked Lothaire's ass literally. Haha. Love her. Another one (lemme just add 1) is TARYN WARNER of FERAL SINS. I super super love her as much as I love TREY.

STORY LINES | PLOT TWISTS | THINGS I FALL FOR
Destined mates (esp. in PNR books), mistaken or secret identity, tortured billionaire hero (cliche I know), alpha-all-the-way, rockstars

PET PEEVES | GUARANTEED TURN-OFFS
Adultery. Pugh. Shifting of POV (a little), love triangles (can't stand it, esp. if the heroine's not worth it) and also if the heroine is torn between two guys or she has feelings for the both of them. WTH. Her love is for the hero alone. Period. 

BIGGEST GLOOM EVER
ARGENEAU/ROGUE HUNTER | LOTU | IAD | I did not stop or read another book in between while am at reading the whole series.

OFTEN RE-READ
FERAL SINS. Read it more than 20 times already and I am still itching to re-read it.

AUDIOBOOK
I'm a newbie to this one. So far I love all of Robert Petkoff's narration esp. on  WICKED DEEDS ON A WINTER NIGHT. Darn. That man can seriously read. With those panty-melting voice. Haist. I'm in love. x

Reading Challenge

Wow. Hello again, self. I know I'm just the only there are only 3 people that will be reading this deserted blog of mine but it's okay. My id, ego, and alter ego are so much of an audience anyway.  So, it's been a month since I've last visited in here or posted something. Blame it on this virus called LAZI-NESS. It  constantly picked me to be its host and I think it developed quite and obsession on me. I miss blogging. Felt nostalgic to be back.. Am I? Lezz see over the next few days. Though I am still reading and making reviews of books but I only posted on GR where it is accessible for me hence I completed the GR challenge I've set for this year. 300 books. Wow. Even I was amazed that I've read so many over these past few months and am not quite done yet. I am still reading since the years not over.. yet. I am now on my 304th book, and am still counting. I'll give an update as the year ends. Oright? Orange? HAHA. Hmm. That's it. I guess.. Nothing much to say.. oh before I forgot.. I LOVE JARED MICHAELS. That sod. Don't know him? ASK ME. The point of this post is. Congrats to me, myself and I and welcome back. Fangirl: Sav & Apollymi

 
I am really a fan of these two DH character. Apollymi- the Goddess of destruction known as the DESTROYER and Savitar- the Chthonian God? Haha. Or famously known as the OMEGRION LEADER.. I've been so transfixed with Apollymi's hatred towards Sav. What really happened way back to the two of them. I've read from a DH book which I can't so much remember who, that Sav felt a remorse from a mistake he did in the past that makes the destroyer hate him. The question is: What the heck was it? It also means that he and Apollymi shared a past together. Hmm. Interesting. Love it. What kind of past tho? Maybe they're lovers, once? I wish. HAHA. But we all know that Apollymi is loyal to the core to his hubby Archon. So let's scratch that thought shall we? But it's free to imagine.. right?  That would be awesome. And even though Apollymi hated Sav, she still trusted him to protect Apostolos (Ash). She ordered Sav to keep Ash safe no matter what and Sav was compelled to carry her wish because he still felt guilty of what he did to her. So Sav was the one who taught Ash how to neutralize and control his power.

I hope they'll be more of him and Apollymi in the up and coming DH books. xx

I really really really love Savitar. Been intrigued and fascinated with him since time immemorial. His relationship with the Destroyer is my dilemma right now. I so want to know what's the score. LOL. I think.. OMG. I forgot what book he did his first major ass- I mean appearance. Anyway, he and Ash makes my DH reading experience worth the while. HAHA. So here are some snippet of convo between the two of them that never fails to make me laugh. XDD

Love it when he called Ash, little brother or grom. Kind of an endearment tho. Sa-weet Sav. Keep it up. 

Sav: War wouldn't dare bring his loserness here. I'd kick it back to Stone Age. And don't knock my paranoia, grom. It's what saved your hide, now, isn't it.

Ash: Yes, and thank you.

Sav: You're welcome. But don't get into trouble again. Your mother has turned nagging for pain  into an Olympic sport and she's been making my head ache over you. I'd tell you to go let her sit on you until you hatch, but I don't want the world to end. Suck ass though it is. However, if the nagging persists, I might change my mind and take you to her myself.

Ash: Sav, I need you to take up residence with my mother.

Sav: (choked at the suggestion) Are you insane? That woman hated my guts. No, she doesn't hate me. Hatred for her would be a step up towards possibly liking me someday.

Ash: Take Alexion and Danger with you and stand by her side and make sure they don't hurt her. Otherwise I'd have to do it and since the point of this is to avoid the apocalypse, my presence in her home would be extremely counterproductive. You're the only one i trust to keep her safe from Stryker, War, Kessar. Even though my mother and I don't always get along and we're on opposite sides of this war, she is my mother and I don't want her hurt.

Sav: (looked like he'd rather be gutted) All right. I'll go. But you owe me. Major owe, so if I ever need something, no matter what it is, I own you.

Ash:  (he snorted) She's not that bad.

Sav: How you figure that, grom? Your mother's the Destroyer. It's a title she not only earned but one she relishes. And you're sending me in with only a few Charonte as backup. What did I even do to you?

Ash: Man up, Sav. You're whining like a little girl.

Sav: If your mother has her way. She'll turn me into one, and I look like shit in pink. Thanks kid.

Ash shook his head as he watched the Chthonian vanish. <3

Ash: "I’m going to leave Simi here for a bit. Will you guys watch her?"

Dev: "We’re going with you."

Ash:  "What are you talking about?"

Angel: "We know what you’re planning and we’re going with you."

He was completely stunned. He saw Valerius, Talon, Kyrian, Julian, Zarek, Sin, Vane, Kyl, Katra, Fang, Tabitha and Fury. 

Ash: "What’s going on?"

Kyrian: (give him a droll stare) "There’s not one of us here that you haven’t put your ass on the line for—most of us more than once.  Alexion told us what happened with Tory and we’re here to watch your back no matter what you have planned."

Talon:  (nodded) "Wulf is on his way, too. He’ll be here as soon as the plane lands and Otto can speed him over.  And Otto plans to stand with us too."

Valerius: (pulled Tabitha back) "Tabitha won’t be fighting. She’ll be going home very shortly, but she wanted to let you know she’s here in spirit."

Tabitha: (made a face) "But for the baby, I’d be busting balls for you, Ash. You know that."

Ash: "I know, Tabby."

Talon: "The other Dark-Hunters wanted to be here but since the sun hasn’t quite set yet, they couldn’t. However, once the blazing ball goes down, they’re here if we need them."

Ash was amazed by their willingness to bleed for him. It touched him on a level he hadn’t realized existed.

Ash: (looked at Kat) "I don’t want you in this fight."

Kat: "Dad---"

Ash: "No arguments. If Simi stays out of the fight, so do you."

Sin: (gave a low evil laugh) "I’m so glad he’s your father. And that for once we see eye to eye."

Kat:  "You are out of the bedroom tonight."

Sin: (he shrugged her ire off good-naturedly)

Zarek: "This still doesn’t mean I like you, Acheron. But I owe you for my wife and son. I would lay my life down for yours because without you, I wouldn’t have shit and I know it."

Ash: "I wasn’t expecting any of you to stand with me. We’re not fighting just the Daimons in this. We’re fighting Demons too."

Sin: (snorted) "I live to tear Demons apart. Bring the bastards on."

Zarek: (nodded) "Agreed… bring on the rain. The one thing I learned from Astrid is that life isn’t about finding shelter in a storm. It’s about learning to dance in the rain. I don’t care what I kill as long as I get bloody while doing it."

Talon: (smiled) "We’re here for you, T-Rex.  Just like you’ve always been here for us."

Ash: "Thank, guys. I’m not used to people standing at my back. I know you all have families who love you so if you want to leave---"

Vane: (scoffed) "We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t want to. You and Val fought to save my sister when no one else would have bothered. I haven’t forgotten it."

Wren: "And I haven’t forgotten what the Dark Hunters did for me and Maggie."

Fury: (nodded) "Yeah, we’re family. Psychotic, bizarre, and a hodgepodge of personalities that should probably never be blended, but here we are. Now let’s go kick some ass."

Convo between ASH and JADEN. <3

Jaden: "I wouldn't say all humans are vermin. They do have their uses- especially the females for brief periods of time. They're just so. . .pathetically human."

Ash: "Which is why you deal with demons."

Jaden: Who are even more pathetic than humans when you think about it. Personally, I'd rather play video games. Wouldn't it be great if we could suck the souls of the people we hated into the box, shoot them down and then dance on their entails?"

Ash: (rolled his eyes at the glee in Jaden's voice) "You woke up on the wrong side of the oak tree didn't you?"

Jaden: "Yeah.  I have my own issues to deal with and, right now, the primary issue appears to be fucking over one of my only friends. I'll do my damnedest to buy you some time with the demons, but you need to come up with a miracle quickly."

Ash: "Hey, Jaden? Thank you. I know you don't have to do what you're doing for me and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated it."

Jaden: "It's okay. I'm sure one day I'm going to need help bending some rules backwards. And when I ask for your help I don't want to hear any shit from you."

Ash: "Anytime, agriato."

Guilty Pleasures

 

Phew. I am such a fuzz. After seeing that I had no room for the new English books I've bought, I requested to my father, my oh-so-favourite papa in the whole world to add another layer to the 2-layered shelf I have in my room. And then viola! It was realized first thing in the morning the next day. Haha. I am so happy and thankful. Lookit. I might require another one like that on the other side of my room for my future books but for now, I am contented and happy.
